Included each day: 2 yoga sessions, hiking, massage, three meals of gourmet spa cuisine and evening sessions with entertainment or guest speakers providing relevent information covering different topics related to wholistic health and living in balance.
Sample Day
6:30 Am Gentle wake-up
6:45 -7:30 Meditation and Yoga stretch in Sycamore Lodge
7:30 – 8:00 Breakfast
8:30 – 11:30 Hike (every day a new hike)
12:00 – 1:30 pm Lunch
1:30 – 5:00 Treatment/Exercise/Free Time*
5-6:30 Yoga/meditation
7:00 – 8:00 Dinner
8:00 – Evening program (class in Nutrition, Time/stress management, Musical Guests)
*During this time your massage will be scheduled. The exercise/stretch room will be available for your use, other possible activities included are tennis, exercise trampoline, volley ball, tennis, or free time to read, meditate, sunbathe, take another short hike or walk to beach.
Optional Services are available by arrangement for additional fees: chiropractic, life coaching, nutritional counseling, horseback riding, tennis lessons, ocean kayaking, acupuncture or acupressure, Shamanic healing session and local tours.
The Location and Property
The Malibu Nature Preserve is the crown recreational jewel of the Santa Monica Mountains. Located in western Malibu, Nicholas Canyon provides the backdrop for the hiking retreats base camp. Surrounded by majestic coastal mountains, shaded Oak and Sycamore groves, the site provides direct walking access to miles of trails with stunning ocean views and abundant wildlife.
Nicholas Canyon's healing and restorative powers have been recognized from the origin of human contact with the land beginning with the Chumash Indians 10,000 years ago. The story is told that during the Chumash period this was a place that people came for healing. The folklore continued into the early part of the 20th Century when people who lived and worked on the land referred to the canyon as God's Little Pocket
Even today, visitors to the property acknowledge a sense of special place. People often exclaim a sense of inner peace and restoration when they spend the day.
